Hello,

I am trying to program a sequence but can’t get everything to work properly. My goal is to start at 50 BPM and go through this pattern (using 4/4 for the time signature throughout):

Bar 1: One whole note
Bar 2: Two half notes
Bar 3: Four quarter notes
Bar 4: Eight eighth notes
Bar 5: Twelve eighth notes (the triplet bar)
Bar 6: Sixteen sixteenth notes
Bar 7: Twenty sixteenth notes (the quintuplet bar)
Bar 8: Twenty-four sixteenth notes (the sextuplet bar)
Bar 9: Twenty-eight sixteenth notes (the septuplet bar)
Bar 10: Thirty-two thirty-second notes

I would then like it to repeat at the end of this sequence and increase by 10 BPM. The problem is the triplet, quintuplet, sextuplet, and septuplet bars do not divide properly. They play at the same eighth or sixteenth-note pace but with extra notes added to the end. Also, the variance does not seem to be working; the same 50 BPM pace continues for every sequence.

I attached some photos of how I set everything up and I will post more if necessary. Can anyone tell me what I’m doing wrong?

Thanks!

I am excited to see that the new version of Metron has a “Silence” option for pulses. This will now allow me to set up clave patterns. I’m wondering if anybody else has done this.

Here is how I got a 3-2 Rumba pattern it to work. I created a single 16/16 bar and grouped by 3+4+3+2+4. The clave works but at max BMP it is still too slow for much of my work. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Is there a way to program a rest on the down beat of a bar or grouping? I have not able to figure this out (it would be very useful for the 2 side of the clave).

Thanks in advance.

SintraWorks is delighted to convey the availability of Metron 1.3 at the iTunes App Store.

Metron for iPhone™ OS was developed to aid in the practice of runs, excerpts and complete compositions. In addition to the usual single and multiple beat ticks of digital metronomes, it offers a high precision engine and a bar based sequencer that offers detailed control over tempo settings and time signatures. Metron also incorporates a pitch pipe with great range, that can be tuned at Hertz or cent level.

New in version 1.3:
• Multi-bar sequences can be navigated (forward, rewind and rewind to start)
• An ample collection of percussive beat sounds has been added. (Snare, high-hats, bongo’s, etc.)
• Silence as a pulse sound option was also added
• Beat sounds are played back when selecting them in the preference settings
• It is now possible to specify a note duration upon which to base a bar’s tempo (Example: you can set a dotted quarter as the base for the tempo of a 6/8 bar)
• Sequences, bars and time signatures can now be created without needing to enter edit mode
• Sequences can now be backed up and shared with other Metron users, through a web-browser interface
• Some cosmetic changes to the front panel, to account for the new functionality
• Various bug fixes
