What is a PDF Service?

I think it means that once installed you can from the print dialog save the document directly into PDFClerk. So if I want to print this webpage and I go to ‘Print’, ‘PDF’ and then ‘PDFClerk’ the webpage will open in PDFClerk as a pdf document. ( and start the PDFClerk application )

Dreeke is correct. To further illustrate the point, here is a screenshot of the PDF service menu in the print dialog, after having installed PDFClerk as a service.
