When I save documents prepared in PDFClerk as .pdfc files, quit PDFClerk and then open them again in PDFClerk, the various objects are no longer positioned at the same location on the page and the dimension of those objects (e.g. size of a text box) has changed.

What needs to be done before saving one’s work to avoid this problem?

PS: If I export the document in .pdf I do not have this problem. But, evidently, then I can no longer modify the objects in PDFClerk.

Original text:

Well, that sounds bad now doesn’t it? However, I cannot reproduce this problem here. Does this consistently happen with all documents you create? Can you describe the exact steps that lead to this happening? Have you defined display boxes on the pages where this happens and are you showing the pages by such a display box?

It may also help if you send me by email a PDFClerk file that exhibits this problem along with a PDF of how the page is supposed to look.

Ok, thanks for the files. Interestingly, when I open the PDFClerk file you sent me as an example, it opens exactly as the example PDF file with the correct look. I cannot get it to show otherwise. Are you possibly still using one of the 2.5 beta versions? The latest version identifies itself as 2.5r2.

Ok. I think I’m on to it. The file opens correctly, but if I then move the text box the box is resized to fit tightly around the text. I’m not sure what causes your file to open not only with the box already resized, but also in another location. At any rate, I’ll look into it, and the incorrect resizing will be fixed in the next update, which is not too far away. As far as I can see it only happens with text boxes, not with other shapes. Can you confirm that (since your original might suggest otherwise)?

- position initiale :
X = 118,219
7= 216,936
X = 118,219 (inchangé)
Y= 12,560
X= 118,219 (inchangé)
Y = 216,936 (retour position initiale)

- position initiale :
X= 68,920
Y= 206,998
X= 70,684
Y= 19,215
X = 72,448
Y= 272,885

Thanks, I get the picture. I still can’t replicate the inversion of the y coordinate, but I’ll try to hunt it down, and your elaborate descriptions are definitely a help. As for the resizing text box, that is reproducible and will be fixed, as I wrote before. A version of PDFClerk with a number of bug fixes (and more…) should be out in a few day’s time.

Well, I finally tracked down the bug that could cause the misplacement of page objects when re-opening files. Both bugs mentioned in this thread are fixed in the latest beta of PDFClerk 2.6 which can be downloaded at http://www.sintraworks.com/media/PDFClerk2.6beta2.dmg
