Page labels and annotations very small - how do you make them larger?

Hi,

I have inserted some images into a PDF and then added some comments andpage labels. The text comes out very small… ie it seems to have scaled the text/label as well as the image to fit on the page.

I have set the Page settigs Media Box to “Sheet Size->Scale contents->proportionally->Align Contents=center”.

Any ideas on how to ensure the labels and annotations are actually readable and larger?

regards

What is the size of the page, and what is the size of the sheets? A significant scaling could have this effect.

To get labels and text to be larger use larger fonts. For labels you can set the font in the document settings dialog, under the Labels tab. For text it depends on whether you used dynamic or static annotations to supply the text. If you used static annotations (text boxes), then simply change the font size of the text in the text box. If you used free text or note annotations, well…we have no control over their font, so you’ll need to use text boxes.

Hi,

I am making a PDF that is made up of a bunch of PDFs, Pics and other docs. The source docs may have different image sizes.

The first problem is the label sizes differs from page to page. I would like it to be consistent.

If I want to print the composite doc out on A4 paper. How do I set the page size so all pages are uniform. It defnitely seems to be scaling it as some pages (ie ones that are A4) have good sized labels… others that include pics and it’s scaled them down, the labels are minute. So it’s not fixed by font size

The second problem is, I tried to print. The prieview has images on certain pages cropped.

I am not a print-guru… so not sure I understand the impact of “imposition” etc.

Any help for this novice, appreciated.

Cheers

A

The images are being cropped because they extend to the edge of the page. I think the easiest way to overcome this is by using an imposition. If you use an imposition. With the samples you supplied you might also prefer to have the material presented in landscape mode.

To get page labels evenly scaled, the best solution is to first create an intermediary PDF with the scaled material, and then use that to superimpose the labels.

These are the steps I suggest:

In Document Settings:
1. Set Media Box, under Page to Original Size.
2. Turn off page labels.
3. Under Impositions Take Margins From Printer.
4. Click OK button.

From menu:
5. Select Impositions->Template->Impose 1 page per sheet side. (Or press command-option-1.) [The material is now imposed onto pages, using the margins we set earlier on.]
6. If the material ends up in landscape orientation and you need portrait select Impositions->Default Orientation->Portrait.
7. Select Impositions->Replace Master with Imposition.
8. Click Proceed at the warning.

9. At this point you would turn on page labels, but it looks like a bug in PDFClerk causes those not to appear so:
9a. Save the document.
9b. Close it.
9c. Open it again.
9d. Turn on page labels in Document settings, setting font and font size, and label placement as desired.

10. Print document.

You should now have uniform page labels and no cropping of any material.
