I have a PDF that I’d like to cut down in size. What I’d like to delete is half of page 2 and half of page 3. Can this be done in PDFClerk?

Thanks,

Unfortunately you can’t. You can hide what is already there, but you cannot delete it.

When you say “hide”, does that mean just cover over with a opaque box? or can I alter the printing so the half pages don’t print out?

You can cover with an opaque text box, or you can change the media box so that half the page doesn’t show, and won’t print, but I doubt that even the last action will actually remove any info from the document. The visual effect will be fine though.

I think you’ve described what I need but 1 don’t understand how to “change the media box so that half the page doesn’t show, and won’t print”. Please point me to where I can learn how to do that.

Thanks,

Dealing with display boxes is described in the user guide and also in the help file that you access from the help menu.

You change a display box the Display Box Inspector (4th tab from the left in the Inspector Panel). You probably want to change the height by halving it. Then, if the part you want to keep is the lower half, you want to add the amount just subtracted from the height to the Y value. That’s it really.
