Hi,
I have a problem I’m not smart enough to figure out smile [not the first!]

I have a 30-page booklet made in InDesign with A5 paper set for it.

I want to use PDFclerk Pro to print it out double-sided on A4 paper (i.e. two A5s per side of paper), but I want it to be laid out so I can just fold it and it’ll be a booklet (i.e. page numbering to be right as a printshop would do it).

I hope I made it clear what I’m trying to do.

I see that in “Impositions editor” you can select “Impose two pages per sheet side”, but I don’t know what else to do after that (i.e. what other settings to change). I put in width as 297 and height as 210 mm. Page distribution shows Front of 4 then 1, and Back of 2 then 3 (seems right to me). I didn’t change any other settings. When I click OK nothing happens.

Thanks for any help you can offer!

For most purposes you need do nothing else. Just change to two up imposition. (Possibly adjust the sheet margins in the document settings.) Then print. To switch to 2-up imposition you select it from the Tools->Impositions menu, or press command-option-2. Selecting the imposition in the imposition editor does not set the imposition in the document, it only selects it for editing in the editor.

You should not need to edit the imposition template; but if you do set a page size there, then you need to change the corresponding popup to “Fixed”.

Thank you! I got it to work (though I think I’m having some alignment trouble with everything shifted to one side. (If you have ideas on why, please let me know).

I didn’t realize how to do it, nor did I know the short-cuts. This is one powerful application, if I can just get my mind around it!

Great programming!

Thanks. Reading through (part of) the documentation may help.

I can’t give you good advice on the shifting without more precise details about what you’re seeing. Maybe a screenshot?
