Hi Tonio,

I’m a property transaction risk manager - http://www.underwriterstrust.com and a large part of my work revolves around compiling, editing and creating executive brief documents that summarise attachments provided by other resources, for Enviromental and Structural Due Diligence work in Europe and emerging markets. (sorry the sentence was so long).

I like working on mac with office mac installed, and when I create word docs and import them into pdf clerk the margins reset and the headers and footers dissapear. There are two things I can think of that would be useful here:

1) When you import the document, you don’t lose the headers and footers; or,

2) When you import the document you keep the margins and settings in the word doc, lose the headers and footers - but - you have the ability to add your header and footer and repaginate the documet to effectively make it a unified whole with consistent headers and footers across all pages and section breaks etc etc.

2) is by far the best solution for the sort of work I need to do, and as ignorant as I am, I haven’t found the functionality yet in the program. PLease help if it’s there and I’m just stupid, or consider it as a real value add, for future development, if it isn’t.

Cheers and regards,

Dave

Hi Dave,

This import functionality is courtesy of Apple, so it is not something I can control, other than offering the ability as it is. Hence this will only improve when and if Apple improves the .doc import functionality. Having said that: have you tried printing to PDF from within MS Word and then opening the resulting PDF document in PDFClerk for further processing? I have a hunch that this would yield better results.
